Second Annual Middle East Philanthropy Awards 2013 Nomination is still open [Reminder]

Few more days before nominations close for Campden Wealth’s Middle East Philanthropy Awards 2013, being held in association with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.

To be held at a glittering awards ceremony in December, the awards will recognize individuals and foundations that have made considerable philanthropic contributions in the Middle East and the Arab region of North Africa.

Nominations across four categories are now open, on the Campden Wealth website for philanthropist of the year, foundation of the year, young philanthropist of the year and the lifetime achievement award.

They will close on 10 November, when an expert panel of judges will decide on a shortlist from the nominees, from which the ultimate winner of each award will be selected.

Recent research has revealed philanthropists and foundations that promote their charitable actions trigger similar good deeds among the communities in which they are based.

According to the Individual Philanthropy Index, conducted by Forbes Insights and French bank BNP Paribas: "The progress of philanthropy will only accelerate once donors become more open about their philanthropy and promote their causes more.”

Last year marked the debut of the Middle East Philanthropy Awards, which was attended by many of the region’s top philanthropists and foundations.

2012 winners included Arif Masood Naqvi (Philanthropist of the Year), Arab Human Rights Fund (Regional Foundation of the Year), Palestine’s Welfare Association (Local Foundation of the Year), Mishal Kanoo (Young Philanthropist of the Year) and Sheikha Bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan (Lifetime Achievement Award).
